Privacy
The short version: I collect as little as possible, I don't sell your data, and there are no advertising trackers on this site. Last updated 27 June 2026.
This site, derkdegeus.com, is run by Derk de Geus, based in The Hague, Netherlands. Questions about your data? Email hello@derkdegeus.com.
If you subscribe, your email address is stored and processed by Kit (ConvertKit) so I can send you updates. You can unsubscribe from any email, which takes you off the list. I don't share the list with anyone.
I use Umami to count visits. It's privacy-friendly: no cookies, no cross-site tracking, no personal data. The numbers are aggregate - page views, rough location, where visitors came from - and tell me what's read, not who you are.
If you email me - for booking, press, or anything else - I keep that correspondence so I can reply and follow up.
A few services help run the site, and they handle data under their own policies: Kit (newsletter), Vercel (hosting), Google Fonts (typography), and YouTube (embedded videos, which may set cookies once you play one). I keep their use to a minimum.
You can ask to see, correct, or delete the data I hold about you - mainly your newsletter email or an email thread between us. Email hello@derkdegeus.com and I'll sort it out.
If this policy changes, I'll update the date at the top.
